While exploring the grounds of Tubman High School in Monrovia, we discovered an intricate bird’s nest tucked away inside an electrical box. These small nests, meticulously constructed from a mix of dried grass, leaves, and synthetic materials such as plastic strips, reflect the adaptability of birds in urban environments. The nest showcases the birds' ingenuity when it comes to utilizing available resources, both natural and manmade, to create secure, concealed places for raising their young. Located within the heart of the city, this nest is a testament to the wildlife that thrives even in the most unexpected places.

Micro Climate

The nest is strategically positioned in a shaded and protected area under a roof, which offers a stable microclimate. The overhang shields the nest from direct sunlight and heavy rainfall, maintaining a relatively consistent internal temperature and humidity level.
